Compassion and quality care for your animal family
Office / Veterinary Assistant
My name is Chelsee. I have been in the veterinary field since the age of 12 (2002). I started as a kennel assistant and by 2010 had worked my way up to being a state and nationally certified/licensed Veterinary Technician. I am currently specializing in Animal Nutrition. My goal is to formulate complete normal and prescription diets for dogs. I have worked with Dr. Sorensen since 2009, first occasionally as she provided relief services in Payson, and now at her own clinic here in town! I have a fiancée and am mother to a wonderful son, a daughter on the way and 3 senior dogs.
Lead Veterinary Technician
My name is Charlotte. Being Dr. Sorensen’s daughter, I have grown up since birth with an ever-growing collection of pets of all sorts. I’m new to working at an animal hospital, but I love animals and am excited to learn the medical aspects of their care. I work hard to ensure your fur babies are recovering well in a clean and healthy environment while I learn the veterinary procedures and techniques for their care.
Office / Veterinary Assistant
My name is Shenia. I was raised on the Kansas/Missouri state line. In 2006, when I turned 16, I started working in local animal shelters. I moved to Payson in 2010 where I worked for the Human Society of Central Arizona Until 2015. I have worked with animals for many years and during that time have obtained numerous certifications. My emphasis has been on dog cognition and positive reinforcement training techniques through the Victoria Stillwell Online Academy.
Hi, I’m Dr. Sorensen, Veterinarian and Owner of Main Animal Hospital. I have always loved animals and as a young teen raised and showed Chow Chows while preparing for a career in the veterinary field. I did my undergraduate work at Northern Arizona University. For a few years I traveled abroad with my husband supporting his career. Upon our return to the U.S. I was accepted to the program at Washing State University School of Veterinary Medicine and graduated there with my doctorate in 1995. We immediately returned to the Phoenix area and it wasn’t long before I became a partner and managing veterinarian at a clinic owned by a large group. Eventually we decided that Payson was the place to be. I began doing relief work here in 2005 and then in the summer of 2011 we made the move. I practiced at a clinic locally for a few years, as well as at the Humane Society of Central Arizona, before purchasing the clinic that became Main Animal Hospital. I enjoy caring for all animals, but find exotic pets especially interesting and challenging. I also find dermatology and internal medicine of special interest.
Main Animal Hospital, LLC
My name is Julie. I am the Lead Veterinary Technician here at Main Animal Hospital. I was introduced to animal care in my late teens, but eventually decided on a military career and enlisted in the Army. I served for 10 years. After honorably separating I worked as a corrections officer in Colorado. I made my way back to Arizona and jumped back into the animal care field that I love so much!
Hello, I’m Jacquelyn. I was born and raised here in Payson. I enjoy horseback riding, barrel racing and especially my job as Veterinary Technician here at Main Animal Hospital. From a young age I have been involved with animals, achieving many of my goals, such as my involvement with FFA, Future Farmers of America. I have been involved with the Payson Pro Rodeo Committee for many years, allowing me to work closely with people and animals here in our local community. I recently graduated from Payson High School and found my dream job here! I am hard-working and bring a kind-hearted ethic to everything I do and love every aspect of my life and living here in Payson!
Certified Veterinary Technician
Hi, I’m Heidi. Originally from Michigan, I moved to Arizona with my family as a young child, where I graduated Chandler High School. After meeting my husband, Ty, the dream of living in Payson started to take shape. My first career was in insurance, followed closely by motherhood. These experiences taught me the skills I needed to excel as Office Manager here at Main Animal Hospital. An animal lover my whole life, I enjoy meeting the animals and their humans as they visit us here in the hospital. When I’m not at the sidelines cheering my daughter’s volleyball games, I enjoy four wheeling the Rim Country with my husband and am an avid hiker.
